The Real Bottleneck Is Not AI—It's Inputs

Whenever automation slowed down, the root cause was rarely the AI. The model was fast. The API was responsive. The real bottleneck was almost always poor inputs:

  • Unclear briefs: Vague goals, missing context, undefined success criteria. The agent spun, asked for clarification, or guessed wrong.
  • Missing documentation: No spec to reference, no prior decisions documented. The agent had to infer, and inference is costly.
  • Incomplete requirements: "We need a dashboard" without saying what's on it, who uses it, or what good looks like.

AI amplifies clarity. It also amplifies confusion. Garbage in, garbage out—but at scale. The fix is upstream: better briefs, better docs, better requirements before the agent ever runs.
